“Design for Rehabilitation – Take the Challenge” – Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) • Feb. 15 – April 15, 2019

This competition is a new event for the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) 2019 meeting in Seattle, Washington. Partner with your local engineering school and assemble a team to design and fabricate an assistive device specifically for one of your patients or for any other person who would benefit from it.

Email a short letter-of-intent to enter preferably by February 15, 2019 but no later than April 15, 2019.

Request for Information (RFI): NICHD Strategic Plan Fiscal Years 2020-2024

The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) has launched a collaborative process to revise and update its strategic plan. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to solicit feedback on the scientific themes, goals, and opportunities under consideration for the new NICHD strategic plan. Input is requested by February 15, 2019.

REACT announces 2018 Pilot Studies awardees

REACT recently awarded funding to four Pilot Studies projects, bring its total number awardees to 13 in the past 3 years. Such funding helps catalyze success for these researchers and their teams by providing consultation, seed funds, key expertise and resources as they conduct innovative pilot projects, early-stage proof-of-concept studies, and futility studies needed to shape more definitive clinical trials.

NCATS announces awards for tissue chip for disease modeling and efficacy testing

NIH has announced 13 two-year awards to develop 3-D tissue chip research platforms that model disease and test drug efficacy prior to clinical trials. The awards represent the first phase of a 5-year initiative to help scientists better understand disease mechanisms and predict more accurately how patients will respond to specific drugs.
