This symposium features renowned researchers and clinicians from around the world, focusing on the emerging field of regenerative rehabilitation. This new and innovative approach combines discoveries in tissue engineering and cellular therapies with rehabilitative treatments, resulting in improved functional outcomes for patients. This symposium encourages the participation of scientists, clinicians and physical therapists who are in the fields of regeneration, physical medicine and rehabilitation.

The symposium agenda is designed to create a platform for bridging these areas of expertise in a setting that fosters discussion, interaction, cross-discipline pollination and networking.

Anthony Atala, MD, Director, Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine, will discuss a regenerative rehabilitation clinical trial for rotator cuff injury.

REACT will be conducting a post-symposium clinical trials workshop on Saturday, October 26th. The workshop will address challenges and opportunities for impactful clinical trials in medical rehabilitation, such as:

  • Trial design
  • Issues in recruitment and retention
  • Mobile technology integration
  • Multi-modal interventions
  • Control groups
  • Response heterogeneity
  • Rigor reproducibility
  • Data and Safety monitoring
