Scholar Awards

Funds to facilitate access to REACT's suite of UAB resources to meet research needs.

There are major knowledge gaps in medical rehabilitation that demand clinical trials of the highest quality. With particular emphasis on chronic conditions such as stroke, brain or spinal cord injury, orthopedic and joint conditions, and developmental and degenerative disorders leading to disability, the overarching mission of the REACT Center, based at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), is to catalyze high-impact clinical trials that will define optimal rehabilitation strategies.

REACT offers Scholar Awards to facilitate medical rehabilitation research. Applicants may apply for funds to facilitate access to the extensive REACT Center suite of UAB resources to meet research needs.

Scholar Awards applications must clearly outline:

  • The design/experimental need
  • What the investment will enable (e.g., preliminary data generation, design/statistical consult, grant application review, trial administration/implementation)
  • The project’s relation to the REACT mission

Review Process

Scholar Awards requests should follow the specifications provided and can only be accepted electronically through the online submission form. The REACT Executive Committee will review Scholar Awards applications for scientific merit and financial feasibility.
